Wixams Events Group is a not-for-profit group comprised of members of the Wixams Community, who on a voluntary basis host a variety of affordable events to cater for the whole community.

Our notable annual events include “Wixams Winter Wonderland”, where Brooklands Avenue is closed for the first Saturday in December and the street is transformed into a wonderland with a funfair, food, drink, Christmas market with local businesses, entertainment, plus a Santa’s grotto in Lakeview Village Hall.

Our other main event is “Wixams Summer Party”, where the Lakeview Primary School field is a summer paradise with a funfair, market, BBQ and other entertainment.

More recently we hosted a Kids Halloween Party in conjunction with Wixams Community Group, where 190 children attended a disco in Lakeview Village Hall with many Halloween-themed activities, hot dogs and lots of fun.

Over 10,000 visitors attend our events annually, which rely completely on local volunteers, sponsorship from local businesses and organisations.

We try and provide as much free entertainment as possible, and where there are ticketed/paid aspects we try to keep our prices as low as possible, to be accessible to everyone.

Even with the goodwill support of our volunteer team and local sponsors, events are hugely expensive to put on with hire charges, insurance, risk assessments and other compliance considerations, while ensuring we go the extra mile to ensure the safety of all attendees and our team.
